Acne Treatment and causes of pimples and blackheads Information by Brookestar5

Many people suffer with the skin condition known as acne but whilst it can cause a great deal of distress, it is a condition that does have treatments available. Skin care products and treatments are plentiful and research into the condition hasn’t stopped. Generally the acne skin care products available can be purchased are based on prevention, over the counter remedies and those that you will go to your doctor for.

The general acne skin care products are the ones that are used as acne prevention measure and include cleansers, make-up removers and similar products that help prevent acne. This is a market where many people use this type of product every day to condition their skin and protect it from the environment, even if they do not have acne so it is probably a good idea anyway.
However, some of these are more oriented to act like an acne skin care product which act against the causes of acne for example, limiting the production of sebum/oil and preventing clogging of skin pores. What these products are doing is reducing the chance of oil staying in the pores and aiding the growth of harmful bacteria which assists the formation of acne.
One particular acne skin care product is an exfoliation skin peel which cleans the skin and helps in the control of acne. This type of peel helps reduce the chance of oil clogging up the pores and removes other impurities as well, lessening the opportunity for bacterium.
Now, many other acne skin care products have become available over the counter that at one time required a prescription to obtain them. The growth of this market place has allowed even more specialized products to be available without the need to visit the doctor.
Although benzoyl peroxide works well, it is possible to have a reaction to it and it is suggested that any skin care product with it in should not contain the active ingredient at more than 5.5 percent. This might just be a case of trial and error but if nothing seems to work then speak to your dermatologist for further advice or a different prescription only product.
Only doctors or skin care specialists can actually prescribe some medications, including the use of antibiotics and certain ointments for example. Under certain circumstances, having the infecting material removed from the pores under a local anesthetic might be suggested by your dermatologist although this is something you should never attempt yourself.
Hormone treatment might also be suggested as hormone changes can lead to acne and this type of treatment has been very effective in a large number of cases. Tackling acne is not the problem it once was and if treated properly permanently marked skin does not have to happen.

Our desire to look healthy and attractive has given way to a whole host of facial skin care products, more in fact than all the other skin care preparations put together. In this area, it is those that are used on a daily basis that are the most prevalent. Things like cleansers, skin toners, daily moisturizers even exfoliation creams and peels.
Owing to the enormous range of facial skin care products it has been necessary to subdivide it into categories to make it easier to find the product suited to your needs. To make things simpler, the most important category facial skin care products are split into are those of gender; yes men’s and women’s products are different.
The obvious next category division is in skin type so if you have oily skin, all those products will be in the same area; other groups are normal skin, dry and sensitive. Your age is also important and facial skin care products are available for older and facial skin and for the young.
Different skin disorders, i.e. facial skin care products for treatment of various skin conditions like eczema and acne for example. So that is your starting point for choosing a facial skin care product that suits you but the best way to start is by determining your skin type first.
Also note that because your skin type changes with age, so the facial skin product that suits you today, might not suit you forever and hence you need to constantly evaluate the effectiveness of your facial skin care product. All skin care products also come in a range of types for example lotions, creams and gels for instance and not everyone knows which to choose.
Only you can judge which type is best but as usual it may take some trial and error on your part. As the number of new products increases and launches are regular, using any new product can be a little like stepping into the unknown especially if you are used to something else, so to ensure you do not have a reaction to a product, try it out on a small piece of skin first.
The only time when this may not be a good idea is if you have a skin complaint, when the best course of action is seek professional advise first before you try a new product. One last thing to keep in mind and that is the instruction leaflet that comes with all skin care preparations; read this carefully and follow it to get the best results.
Keeping your skin looking good in today’s polluted atmosphere need not be difficult whether you’re a man or a woman.
